The mermaid statue stands on the beach to the north of Siumach and is fairly easily reachable. The beach it stands on is quiet and desolate, and you have a nice view of the falls from Medlonia. People come here to pray as an alternative to the altar, as well as to get some rest and enjoy the view.
The statue is sacred and those who touch it are said to die from the illness that threatened Westonia in the year 444. It is said that Machna communicated with Haman Konmach via a beautiful mermaid. The mermaid is seen as the start of Machken and the statue is honored as such. People still believe that one day the mermaid will return.
